After a summer vacation that was both productive and rejuvenating, students from all grade levels gathered at our Welcome Back Orientation and embraced each other with warm hugs and enthusiastic smiles.
At the end of August, families reunited with each other, greeted teachers, received a school overview, and had an opportunity to meet our new Head of School, Mr. Andrew Ackers. It was a heartwarming occasion that fostered connections and renewed relationships within our vibrant community.
As a highlight of the event, parents listened to a ‘Welcome Back’ introduction from Mr. Ackers and learned of his vision for the school. It was clear from the start that Andrew values the goals each family has for their children and will prioritize them as the school progresses and grows for the development of each individual student.
Parents also received insights on our curriculum, met all the faculty and staff members at both the Heights and College campuses, participated in a Q&A session, and ventured out on campus tours to see where their children would spend their time becoming independent thinkers. Simultaneously, students met their classmates and began fostering early connections that will support their social development.
After the classroom walkthroughs and morning introductions, families were ushered into the gym, where the room buzzed with excitement as parents and students explored connections with our proud school sponsors.
Here, everyone had the opportunity to purchase fresh Lynn-Rose apparel and proudly represent our school. They also met with our partners, The Source, powered by Bell and Wynn Fitness. The Source displayed an array of exclusive deals on cellphones and internet services while Wynn Fitness offered incredible family deals and a month-long free membership. Wynn’s presence highlighted our commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness, further underscored by the exciting plans for our new all-encompassing fitness room at the College campus.
Finally, our families had a first-look at our growing Homestay Program for international students by meeting our partners at Global Bridge Associates. The friendly team of two shared essential insights regarding their involvement in the program, helping families adapt to life in a new country. Their approachable presence made newcomers feel comfortable and well-informed, which eased their transition into our community and addressed the desire for our current families to open their homes to future international students.
The Welcome Back Orientation was not just an event; it was a poignant reminder of the incredible network we have at Lynn-Rose School. Together, we will support one another as we embark on this journey of growth, learning, and discovery. Here’s to another fantastic school year ahead.
